Petr & Lauren Božoň

Petr and Lauren first met in 2000, when Lauren was teaching English at a language school in Frydlant, Czech Republic. Growing up in a non-Christian home in communist Czechoslovakia, Petr trusted Christ in 2002, while attending Lauren’s home church in Pennsylvania. As a young believer, he moved back to Czech where he began attending a church planted by a Josiah Venture missionary in Frydlant. In September 2003, Petr joined the JV team as manager of the Malenovice training and conference center. Lauren followed Petr back to Czech in February 2004, and they were married later that year.
Petr now manages all facility construction and reconstruction projects that Josiah Venture undertakes in the Czech Republic, and coordinates the short-term mission teams that come to help. Currently, Petr is overseeing the building of the Malenovice Event Center that will be used to train youth leaders across Central and Eastern Europe. Lauren spends her days caring for their four children, and is the music coordinator of the Frydlant Fusion outreach, a youth choir and band that uses popular music to build relationships with young people. Both are actively involved in their local church, where Petr serves as an elder and Lauren sings with the worship team and teaches Sunday school.
