Alex Tománek

Alex comes from Slovakia. He grew up culturally Roman Catholic, but a few months after his third Josiah Venture English camp, the gospel penetrated his heart and mind. As a result, he started attending a Lutheran church. At that church, he got involved in the youth group and the English camp ministry. Because he himself experienced God changing his life through the ministry of others, Alex found ministry very meaningful, and, therefore, decided to pursue a full-time ministry career. In order to prepare himself, Alex went to the United States to study. There, he earned a bachelor's degree at Moody Bible Institute and a master of theology degree at Dallas Theology Seminary. During his studies in the U.S., he became more acutely aware of the spiritual need in Europe and his country, and consequently returned to Slovakia after he graduated seminary.

After Alex learned about the potential opportunity to serve at Josiah Venture's ForMission College, he became very enthusiastic, because the opportunity would allow him to bring his passion for teaching, academic study, spiritual formation, and practical ministry together. He joined the higher education team in 2025 and serves as one of the teachers at the European campus of ForMission College. There, he helps provide theological and biblical education for young leaders across Central and Eastern Europe, for whom he longs to see use the knowledge and skills they acquire during their studies to reach Europe through local and practical ministry. Alex lives in Žilina and seeks to reach and disciple young people at his church.
