Serhii & Yana Skyba
Mark, Daniel
Serhii was born and grew up in Cherkasy, Ukraine, where he accepted Christ. Starting in 2016, he ministered to young people, nurtured disciples, and worked as a chef. He met his wife Yana at the church and they got married in 2017. In 2018, he became a youth pastor, investing in young people. In 2021, Serhii and Yana felt a call to full-time ministry. Serhii gradually handed over the youth ministry in the church to a new leader and started to develop a youth discipleship movement in Cherkasy. Serhii and Yana moved to serve as missionaries in a newly formed church in Uman, a smaller city near Cherkasy. Continuing to invest in the younger generation, Serhii began working in the seminary at the faculty of young leaders.
When the war started Serhii and Yana decided to stay together in Ukraine and serve where they can. Serhii helped with evacuations, delivery of humanitarian aid, and psychological assistance for refugees. Yana was preparing to give birth to their second son and life in the new reality.
Serhii is now actively serving with Josiah Venture in Ukraine by training youth teams and mentoring young leaders for their personal discipleship. In addition, he is planting new churches, periodically travels to the frontline territories to serve there, and leads a pastoral ministry in Uman. Yana is leading a discipleship group and a ministry for new moms.
They have two children, Mark and Daniel.
