Shawn first learned of Slovenia in December of 2001 when he heard God clearly say, “You’re going to Slovenia.” Two years later, still wondering how he was going to get to Slovenia, Shawn married his wife Christena, and God led them to Central Oregon. While there, they miraculously heard about missionaries serving with Josiah Venture in Slovenia. God had many years of preparation in mind, including youth ministry and finishing Bible College at Frontier School of the Bible. It was eleven years after God said, “You’re going to Slovenia” that Shawn, Christena, Zack, Nathan, Corban, and Alisha arrived in the beautiful city of Kočejve, Slovenia. After 7 years in Kočevje, God led them to move near the Capital city of Ljubljana where they now serve. The Werdebaughs have a huge burden to see the lost come to know Jesus personally. They also want to see those that know Him grown in maturity and knowledge of the Lord in a way that leads them to reach their community for Christ. Shawn and Christena are passionate to see God’s Word and Light spread in Slovenia to reach this generation for Christ.
